North West FM Antenna Update

November 2017: Our new temporary transmission antenna was installed at our studio on Friday November 17, 2017 and listeners were quick to acknowledge the improved radio signal.

This is a temporary solution until the new full time, full strength antenna can be erected at the Progress Reserve after ACMA (the Australian Communication and Media Authority) corrects a long existing issue.

The Hume City Council has been working with us to make this happen, and as a result they will now be able to move forward with their plans for the former Town Hall building.  Read more

Our next Radio Training Course starts on Sunday February 11, 2018

The next radio training course will be conducted over three full days and one half day.

Sunday February 11, 2018 (half day), Saturday February 17, Sundays February 18 and 25 (all full days).

Courses are run at our studio at 100 Middle Street, Hadfield, Melbourne 3046.

Moonee Valley Festival on Sunday February 25, 2018


North West FM will be a part of the Moonee Valley Festival in Queens Park, Moonee Ponds on Sunday February 25, 2018.

This festival is the City of Moonee Valley’s largest free community celebration with market stalls, food trucks, roving performers, live entertainment, community activities and displays.


Moreland Relay For Life - March 24 and 25, 2018


Join the Cancer Council’s Relay For Life at Clifton Park, Albert Street, Brunswick on March 24th & 25th, 2018 as we celebrate cancer survivors, remember those we have lost and fight back against cancer.

There are a number of ways your organisation can get involved:

  Create a team and participate in the event,  

  Volunteer your time or services, or

  Help spread the word - promote it within your own networks.


Fawkner Festa on Sunday November 12, 2017


Fawkner Festa

North West FM attended the Fawkner Festa at the CB Smith Reserve in Jukes Road, Fawkner on Sunday November 12, 2017.

Over 3000 people attended the the Fawkner Festa in 2016. A sunny day helped to make the Festa festive again this year.

Thanks to all who came along to support North West FM’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday May 25, 2017 at our studio at 100 Middle Street, Hadfield.

It is our annual fundraiser for the Cancer Council.


Moonee Valley Festival on Sunday February 26, 2017



Residents of Moonee Valley have been coming together each year for a fun summer day in Queens Park since 1977.

Youth On Air

Youth On Air is a program designed to be implemented into any secondary school's curriculum in order to introduce them to community radio while teaching them new skills and helping expose them to new opportunities.

The program can run from a minimum five weeks to eight weeks and takes students from program development all the way to production and eventual broadcast.
