Presenters of the EDFL Match of the Day wins 2012 AFL Media Award

Congratulations to Joe Mangiafico and Frank Siliato from Sports of all Sorts for their highly commended award in the category of Community Radio Award at the 2010-11 Cricket Victoria Media Awards on Monday 11 April 2011. Read more
Joe and Frank give a tremendous thanks to Mel Jones (Essendon Maribyrnong Park Ladies Cricket Club), Catherine Morrow (Brunswick Park Cricket Club), Bill Tucknott (Coburg Cricket Club) and everyone else who had a segment during the summer period for contributing to the success of Sports Of All Sorts at the Cricket Victoria Media Awards.

Sports of all Sorts won the Troy Garner Excellence in Sports Programming Award at the 2010 “Voxies” at the CBAA Conference in Hobart on October 24, 2010.
Viva Italia was also a finalist for the Excellence in Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasting Award. Read More.
v Another award for Ivor Jenkins: Congratulations once again to Ivor Jenkins (Sports of All Sorts) for winning the Community Radio Award at the 2009-10 Cricket Victoria Media Awards on 20 April 2010.
v Moonee Valley Festival 2010:
North West FM was a part of the Moonee Valley Festival on Sunday February 28, 2010. Now in its 33rd year the Moonee Valley Festival is recognised as one of the largest FREE community events operating in Melbourne. Thanks to all who dropped by and said hello.
v Vale Lotomau Komiti:
Every now and again we have extremely sad news to have to share, involving one of our presenters. Lotomau Komiti, the presenter of our Samoan program passed away on New Year’s Day 2010 while holidaying in Samoa.
Lotomau was a leader in his community and came to North West FM with the idea of providing something for the youth of this community. He had been presenting the Samoan Program on Fridays for several years. His community wishes to continue the program.
North West FM shares with members and listeners deep sadness at the passing of Lotomau and our sincere sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

v 2008 CBAA Award Winners Announced: On Saturday November 15, 2008 North West FM won the “Excellence in Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasting” Award for Viva Italia produced by Carlo Giampietro. Congratulations to Carlo and the team.
v Vale Mick Pearson: North West FM shares with members and listeners deep sadness at the passing of Michael John (Mick) Pearson on April 10, 2008. Our sincere sympathy to his wife, family and friends.
Mick joined us in late 2006 and presented two programs each week: “One Hit Wonders” on Fridays and “No. 1 Hits” on Thursdays. Mick was a bright chatty personality, presenting music that he loved. He will be sadly missed.
v Congratulations to Carlo from the “Viva Italia” program for his Highly Commended Award in the category of “Contribution To Ethnic Broadcasting” at the CBAA Conference Awards on Saturday November 24, 2007. Quite an amazing effort, especially when the winner was a full time (Melbourne wide) Ethnic language station!
Also congratulations to Ivor and the team from “Sports of all Sorts” for being finalists in the category of “Excellence In Sports Programming”.
v Glenn Scarborough (North West Amateur Footy Report) was named the joint winner of the Media Personality Of The Year Award 2006 at the VAFA's 2007 season launch. The other joint winners were from Inner FM and Southern FM for their combined efforts in broadcasting the VAFA Grand Final which was simulcast on all three stations.
The award recognised Glenn's efforts in “promoting the VAFA, particularly in the North West region via 98.9 North West FM”. It was back to back awards for the newly appointed St Bernard’s General Manager ... well done to Scatters, 2 years in a row!
