How to use the Tascam CD-500B CD Player – 98.9 North West FM
SINGLE PLAY (Fig 2)
Auto Cue ON Auto Ready ON
If the Auto Cue is ON: When you select a track to play, it will line up the track, skip any silence at the start of the track and pause it at the point where the music starts.
If the Auto Ready is also ON: When you press play, the selected track will play once then stop. It will then line up the NEXT track and pause it at the point where the music starts – i.e. Single Play.
Press the DISPLAY button under the EJECT button to show time elapsed or time remaining for the song or for the album.
Remember to press the STOP button before you press the EJECT button.
CONTINUOUS PLAY (Fig 3)
Auto Cue ON Auto Ready OFF
If the Auto Cue is ON: When you select a track to play, it will line up the track, skip any silence at the start of the track and pause it.
If the Auto Ready is OFF: When you press play, the selected track will play followed by the rest of the CD – i.e. Continuous Play (for Live CD’s etc).
TO TURN THE AUTO READY ON OR OFF
Press the SHIFT button (a light will appear next to the SHIFT button to show it is on) then press the A.READY button. Then press the SHIFT button and the light will go off. You can turn the Auto Ready ON or OFF while a song is playing without interrupting the song.
You can tell whether the Auto Ready (A.RDY) is on or off by looking at the screen – see Fig 2 and Fig 3 above.
Remember to return it to the default setting before you leave – the A.CUE and A.RDY must BOTH be visible in the screen.
TO PREVIEW A TRACK:
Make sure the ON button is NOT turned on on the CD channel on the desk – it must be OFF.
Push down the CUE button for that player on the desk, select the track on the CD player and press PLAY on the CD player.
If it is not the track you want, press the PAUSE button then either the back or forward button on the SKIP group to locate the correct track.
When you have the correct track, press the PAUSE button then press the CALL button and it will go back and pause at the start of the track.
IF YOUR CD HAS MP3 TRACKS – IN FOLDERS:
This player does NOT display ANY names for the tracks or folders. You need to know how many songs precede the one you wish to play. It is a good idea to have a printed list of all mp3 songs on the disk and number them from 01 onwards. That way you don’t have to preview it.
To select the required folder, use the SHIFT button and the back or forward button on the SKIP group. Then use the back or forward button on the SEARCH group to select the required track.
If you use mp3 tracks, the display counter will NOT count down to the end of the song – it will only count from 00:00 onwards.
